What will a housing counselor need to see to help you with your mortgage problems? They’ll want to see your mortgage statement as well as any notices you have received from your lender or servicer. You should also have your most recent tax returns, verification of income, and a good idea of your household budget and monthly spending. The counselor will help you understand your current situation and what you need to do address the problems you are facing.
