February 12, 2009

Today some of the smartest minds in the region around issues of foreclosure will be giving a seminar at the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL). The University’s Community Partnership Project is holding its second seminar on foreclosure issues. The first was a presentation made by Todd Swanstrom (who recently appeared in our hour-long special on the financial crisis) at the Public Policy Research Center with UMSL.

This seminar will feature a panel that addresses how foreclosures impact housing prices, crime, and vacacny. The panel will also address ways appropriate responses to these issues. The panel will feature UMSL economics professor William Rogers, UMSL researcher Will Winters, Jeff Rainford, a top aide to St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, St. Louis University urban planning professor Sarah Coffin and Suzanne Skelly, with Coldwell Banker Gundaker.

The event will take place at 3pm today. For more information on location and directions click here.
